THE SEXTANT
The Sextant was primarily a nautical
device used by navigation officers (in conjunction with accurate tables, and a chronometer) to
precisely determine the ships' location. For over two hundred years, vessels far out to
sea, with no land reference, and coastal ships alike used it for plotting their location. Very
recently, the US Military's Global Positioning System of satellites (GPS), replaced the sextant.
GPS is built into everything from commercial airlines, and inter-state trucks, to golf carts
and Lap Tops - but the GPS transponder makes a rotten company logo.
The Sextant, as a symbol, is used by Musson International to indicate our
observance of a centuries old maritime foundation in International
transportation, and Freight Forwarding. Finally, the Sextant represents both a business principle and a fundamental truth that
in order to safely reach a goal, the origin must first be known.
